Plays the way you know

Grit runs on Horizon, an open-source engine that checks its rules and world generation against the vanilla game with more than 300 automated tests. The same seed gives the same world, and farms and redstone work the same way.

FAQ

Is this Minecraft?

No. Grit is its own open-source game with no Minecraft files in it. It plays the way you know because its engine, Horizon, rebuilds the same rules from scratch. Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.

Does it cost anything?

No.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play without signing in to anything.

Will mods work?

Content mods made for Horizon will. Fabric mods are experimental, through Horizon Java Bridge. Modpacks are built to open in one tap.

Is it open source?

Yes. The engine is MIT-licensed and the art is CC BY-SA. Credits are on the About page.
